Four day Mysore & Bandipur Tour showcasing culture and wildlife. The trip starts from Davey’s Townhouse – Mysore. The idea is to discover secrets of a travel covering from Mysore to Bandipur. Its a 4-day trip with two days of sight-seeing and relaxing in a townhouse amidst scenic plantations to escaping into the woods-Bandipur National Park, the stay being more wilder in an eco-friendly jungle lodge.
An absolutely adventurous trip for those who love traveling and wildlife. To experience a different level of wilderness that one has never experienced. Mysore being the abode of palaces and Bandipur being the abode of flora and fauna is sure to give you contrasting views in a single tour.
Drive to Davey’s Townhouse which is situated at 8kms from Mysore Railway Station/190 kms from Bangalore Airport. Time free to visit the magnificent Maharaja Palace (1911-12), which is a fairy tale castle with inestimable antiquities in the middle of the city. Visit also Chamundeshwari Temple on Chamundi Hill overlooking Mysore and the 4,9 m high Nandi, riding animal of Hindu god Shiva. Overnight stay in the townhouse.
Breakfast at 9.00 am. After breakfast, see the enchanting temple complex of Somnathpur (35km), one of the best preserved of the Hoysala’s (13. cent.). Drive through a mellow landscape with rice and sugar cane fields. Visit Srirangapatana, earlier capital of the mighty Moslem ruler Tipu Sultan (18. cent.), the Summer Palace with beautiful frescos and inlay work and the Gumbaz, his and his father’s mausoleum. Overnight in townhouse.
Finish breakfast and head to activities that include Guided Heritage walks, Food walks, Silk & Sandalwood factory visits. Come back to townhouse and pack for a Drive to bandipur which takes about 2 and half hours. Reach at Dhole’s Den, an eco-friendly jungle lodge and check in at 1.00 pm. At 1.30 pm lunch and after lunch, you can have a leisurely stroll around the property, do a spot of archery or pond fishing. At 3.00 pm, depart in our vehicle to the Bandipur Safari Reception Centre for a 2 and a half hours Jungle Safari in an open 16-seater bus. At 7.00 pm, enjoy the conversations at a crackling campfire under the starlit sky, with snacks and beverages to order and special barbecue for larger groups.
At 7.00 am, go for a nature walk for bird watching outside the property with an in-house trained naturalist. At 8.00 am, breakfast and refresh. At 10.30 am, go on a visit to the tribal village, where you can interact with members of a tribal family in their home. At 11.30 am, on the way back, stop at our organic farm that also includes a rescued bovine family. You can choose vegetables from the farm to make a salad back at your homestay. At 1.30 pm lunch. At 4.30 pm, take a drive in our vehicle into the countryside for tea at a picturesque location. At 6.30 pm, return to the property to watch the sunset from the vantage point of a lounge terrace with snacks. At 8.30 pm, dinner and then head to experience a night-walk by torchlight inside the property to spot nocturnal creatures or just settle down in the lobby for an interesting wildlife documentary.
Spend a leisurely morning around the property. Have breakfast at 9.00 am and check out at 11.00 am. Drive from Bandipur to Mysore Railway Station/Bangalore Airport.
